K. A. K. Lecky is a Norwegian-American illustrator and author, who is always seeking new adventures. She speaks six languages and loves to travel, feeling most at home surrounded by the Arctic mountains and fjords of Northern Norway.

Receiving her bachelor's in Medieval and Early Modern Studies from the University of NC at Chapel Hill and her master's in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, she now works as a full-time author and illustrator in children’s publishing. She works primarily in traditional watercolor and gouache and writes everything from picture books to YA fantasy and adult literary fiction. When she’s not painting or napping, Kelsey enjoys swimming, practicing traditional English longbow archery, reading, and hiking.

She is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and currently lives in NC with her husband, wolf dog, and rather fat cat.
